Annual Wellness Visits or Regular Check-Ups
We encourage you to have an Annual Wellness Appointment to review your medical history, order & review screening labs and other tests, and make any necessary treatment plans or referrals. This is also a great time to get those Biometric Forms completed for your health insurance. Please note: we do not perform annual wellness pap smears or prostate exams in our office.
Sick Visits for Minor Illness and Infection
We are able to see and treat patients with minor illness; such as: sore throat, cough, congestion, sinus pressure, ear/eye symptoms, urinary discomfort, stomach ache, and more.
Other Problem Focused Visits
We do understand that from time to time, you may have issues that arise that need medical evaluation and treatment. While we do practice within the Functional Medicine structure, we are able to integrate traditional medicine so we can treat you effectively.
Pre-Operative Surgical Clearance
Should you find yourself needing a surgical procedure that requires a surgical clearance and physical examination, we are able to help. We will perform a thorough risk evaluation and examination, perform an EKG and order or draw required lab work.
Medication Management Policy
Please understand that our office practices within the Integrative Functional Medicine structure, even with primary care. This means our focus is on wellness, prevention, and reversal of chronic conditions, symptoms and disease. If you have a long-term or chronic condition that requires ongoing medication management, we might not be able to manage that in our office.
We DO NOT manage or prescribe long-term/chronic medications for:
-Uncontrolled diabetes or insulin dependent (this should be managed by an endocrinologist)
-We do not prescribe controlled medications unless used in conjunction with hormone therapy, weight loss or mental health care.
*For any condition that you see a specialist for, we are happy to work with you on the functional medicine side to ensure you are optimizing your overall health to help you better manage these conditions and work to stabilize, prevent progression or possibly even reverse!
We DO manage or prescribe long-term/chronic medications for:
-metabolic/endocrine such as pre-diabetes, PCOS, etc.
-high blood pressure and cholesterol
-controlled and stable diabetes
-other conditions on a case-by-case basis
We do have a traditional family medicine/primary care nurse practitioner that provides medication management outside of this list as well.
We DO manage or prescribe short-term and/or as needed medications for a variety of issues, such as:
-illness or infection
-other conditions or symptoms on a case-by-case basis
We DO NOT prescribe controlled medications unless hormone, weight management or psychiatric/mental health care.
Since our overall goal is to help you reverse and manage these symptoms as naturally as possible, we work with you to make necessary steps to wean off medications, if appropriate.
If you do require medication management for a condition we do not manage, we will refer you to the appropriate specialist.
Medications are only filled during office visits.
If you are on a medication that requires refills and management, you will be scheduling with one of the nurse practitioners.
