Annual Wellness Visits or Regular Check-Ups
Although we practice Functional Medicine, we are a Primary Care Provider! We encourage you to have an Annual Wellness Appointment to review your medical history, order & review screening labs and other tests, and make any necessary treatment plans or referrals. This is also a great time to get those Biometric Forms completed for your health insurance.
Sick Visits for Minor Illness
We are able to see and treat patients with minor illness; such as: sore throat, cough, congestion, sinus pressure, ear/eye symptoms, urinary discomfort, stomach ache, and more.
Other Problem Focused Visits
We do understand that from time to time, you may have issues that arise that need medical evaluation and treatment. While we do practice within the Functional Medicine structure, we are able to integrate traditional medicine so we can treat you effectively.
While we are considered primary care, we use a functional medicine approach. Our main focus is on wellness, prevention, and reversal of chronic disease (or stabilization of progression) and our goal is to keep you off medication, whenever possible. Unless we are managing you for issues such as metabolic disorders, weight management, hormones, thyroid, etc-we typically will not prescribe or refill chronic medications. Chronic medication means if you need to be on a medication for more than 1 month at a time. If the need arises to where you must be given a medication to manage a chronic issue that we are not able to treat in the office, we will refer you to the appropriate specialist for management. Of course, we do try to avoid that when appropriate. However, at times, it is necessary to do so in severe cases. If a referral must be made, we will continue working with you to reverse or prevent progression. If you are establishing as a new patient with our practice, please understand our medication policy for chronic management. We will discuss your options at your new patient visit. Also, our office does not prescribe controlled medications unless you are on a hormone or weight loss protocol.
