INSURANCE INFORMATION FOR FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE/PRIMARY CARE

Our integrative focus allows a more personalized, patient-centered approach to healthcare; longer appointments, direct access to your provider, better preventative care and superior overall healthcare.  

We are considered out of network with insurance for all visits. This means we do not accept insurance for office visits. However, if you have insurance, you can use it for everything BUT your office visit with us; like: lab work, imaging, medications, etc.  If you have out of network benefits, you can request a Superbill from us so you can directly submit to your insurance for reimbursement of your office visit. Our fees are affordable; we have been very mindful of our fees in order to be able to provide this type of service. We also do not charge membership fees, nor do we sell supplements as part of your treatment. 

As a patient of our practice, you will receive Patient-Centered Care without the costly fees! Our providers spend anywhere from 30-60 minutes with you during your appointment but we also spend about 30-45 minutes thoughtfully creating your treatment plans and visit summaries! In traditional medicine practices that accept insurance, you will often find the average time you spend with your provider is 7-15 minutes. This is exactly what we DO NOT DO. We have been able to properly diagnose and treat patients mostly in part by spending time with them!

Do you have insurance?

What insurance will cover: basically everything BUT the office visit. Insurance will cover lab work, diagnostic imaging, medications, referrals to specialists, if needed. If you would like to  request reimbursement from your insurance for the office visit, please ask us for a Superbill.  As a disclaimer, since each insurance plan is different, we encourage you to inquire about coverage for these services BEFORE you have them completed. There are a lot of factors to consider; such as: deductibles, plan limitations and exclusions and frequencies. We have no way to know this information as this is the responsibility of the patient to know and understand their coverage. 

NOTE ABOUT PRIOR AUTHORIZATIONS:

Please note that as an out of network provider, we do not perform insurance prior authorizations. There are certain compounded medications that might not be covered. Always check with us for self-pay rates if you have a high deductible or uncovered services to help save you money. 

Are you self-pay?

No worries! Our fees are low and affordable. We also have relationships with various labs and diagnostic imaging to provide you with low cost medical services.  We have several cost effective solutions for all patients. 

We also accept HSA/FSA and Care Credit as an approved medical facility and all services are eligible.

One of the most common questions we get asked is WHY we don't accept insurance. 

The reason we have been able to help so many people is because we spend time with our patients. We listen to them. There is absolutely no way we would be able to do what we do in the typical 10 minute visit. For us, it is listening to patients talk and hearing small clues; this points us in the right direction for a diagnosis. 

If we were to accept insurance for office visits, we would not be able to spend 30-60 minutes with our patients. We would have to let insurance dictate what you can and cannot do. We would not be available to patients directly with questions or concerns. We would not be able to allow our patients to be a part of the treatment decision making process. You have a name at our practice; you're not just a date of birth. There's so much more. 

The cost of office visits are relatively affordable, we do not charge membership fees, we do not sell "supplement protocols" or sell expensive lab tests that your insurance likely covers.. We have helped so many patients in just 1-2 visits, compared to years at other offices. Let us help you too! 

Aside from our providers, we have NO other staff. This allows us to keep care intimate & personal but also keep our overhead down to keep our fees affordable for you!
